Back to School!

School started yesterday. Seighan was "sick" and we thought she probably was just nervous about starting kindergarten. But she threw up a couple times and was sick the rest of the day, so maybe she really did have a flu bug or something. So she stayed home and went in today. She's had a good time and is happy about being in school.I don't think she's quite sure about being at school all day. She and Cami ride the bus together. Speaking of Cami, she's in 3rd grade this year. She's in the "cluster" class which is not the Talented and Gifted program, but is for "high achievers." Many of the same students have been in her class the past couple years. They all seem to be a little more mature than other children the same age. She has enjoyed the cluster class in the past and we hope she will this year too. It seems to keep her challenged and motivated to learn and progress. Her classroom is one of the portables outside. She's so excited about that. She was on the 2nd floor in 1st grade, the 1st floor in 2nd grade, and now outside for 3rd grade. She says, "Mom, Can you believe it? I've been all over the school!" It's funny to me what kids think is really cool stuff. Garrett started 6th grade in middle school. He's in a self-contained class with 10 or 11 other students with various learning disabilities. He loves, loves, LOVES his classroom! It is decorated with jungle animals - monkeys and snakes hang from the ceiling on brown paper vines. It is the perfect place for him. His teachers seem really good and we all think he will do very well this year. I had every intention of getting pictures at meet the teacher night, but the camera didn't make it out of my purse. I will need to get some pictures to post.
